James 1:2

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations

Bible Reading for A Year:[bible]Psalm107[/bible];[bible]0Luke19[/bible];[bible]Judge1-2[/bible]

James’s statement “count it all joy when ye fall into divers’ temptations” (1:2) is the ultimate key to change the test into happiness. Although we can not choose what test we receive, we may choose how to respond it. J.B Phillips makes its statement simply as “Do not consider its test as your enemy, but as your friend!”

British counselor, Selwyn Hughes reminds people that test could be your friend if our goals are similar to what Jesus wants. When our goals are only hindering problems or troubles, then its test will become our enemies.

Hughes admits that he has some difficulties implementing what he has suggested. He remembers that one day, his wife and he pulled over their car to checking a map. Suddenly, a truck turned around and crashed their car. They did not get any injure, but they have broken car. Then, it began raining. Hughes then got frustrated, anxious, and furious to truck’s driver so he was difficult to accept that accident as happiness. However, when they were waiting for the police, he began to think how God may use that test and make it as similar as what Jesus wanted. He gradually could make a friend with that test.

If one day you are facing the test, make a friend with it and allow God to use that situation so that it will be similar to what Jesus wants.

God determines every moment that we will be going through; we determine strategies to pass it over.
