Isaiah 61:1

"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound”

What is your most beautiful childhood memory? Do you know that what happened in the early days of a child’s life will influence him until he becomes an adult? What we see, what we hear, and what we feel as a child can affect our lives in adulthood.

Some people have sweet memories with their father and mother; the love of parents makes them merciful and caring towards others. When they’ve grown up, they become confident and influential people, their attitudes are shaped through life process, yet they have firm foundation due to role model and guidance they have in their life.

But some people are not. Many children have experienced hardship because their parents are cruel or they’ve been bullied by peers. They have bitterness in their heart, brought until they’re adults. Due to the hurt in the past, someone can have crisis identity, be easily offended, and fragile.

But that does not mean that wounded past makes you a bad person. God is able to use a great childhood and hurtful one to form His children in glory. It starts with a response: let God enter your heart. If there are painful things that you feel today, come to Him and allow Him to touch and heal you. The next step is to direct your eyes to God; let His peace, love, and grace cover through your heart and mind.

The Father in heaven wants to set you free from bad and painful childhood memories or the recent ones. He can destroy the unhealthy bond, both spiritually and emotionally, and replace it with hope and satisfaction in God.

Bad things may happen in your life, but that doesn’t mean that they can hinder you from great things God will do in your life.
