When Calamity Comes

Esther 8:6

For how can I bear to see the calamity that is coming to my people? Or how can I bear to see the destruction of my kindred?”

These days, some areas in Indonesia hit by calamity. Started from great floods in Manado and some districts in Jakarta, landslide in some areas of Indonesia, and also Mt Sinabung which is still erupting until now. These situations are so heartbreaking.

However, do not stand idle or put your concerns only to what is happening now. But let us have a heart like Esther when she saw her nation being threatened. She did not only put her concerns and took a pity. She reacted and did an action. First, she prayed and fasted even she moved her people to pray and fast. Second, she put her life on risks in order to save her nation before the King.

Let us do what Esther did. 2014 is the year of determination for Indonesia. Let us pray and fast to save this nation before God. We need ask Him forgiveness and compassions for Indonesia and strength so that we may overcome these calamities.

Furthermore, we also should help our fellows especially those who are in calamity. Do what you can do to help them. Let us be an access of God’s love to them.

We are responsible to save this nation before God.
