Jeremiah 18:4

"But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him"

Bible Reading for A Year: Psalms 44; 2 Timothy 2; Isaiah 41-42

As clay in the hands of a potter, so are our lives in God's hands. A potter has a certain plan and a vision for the clay. He formed the clay up in accordance with his will and plan.

Its process is not always easy and fast. The clay is placed in a refinery and rotated repeatedly. When the potter feels that it is not suitable to his will, then he would squeeze the clay back and put it into the refinery to replay. When the potter feels that its shape is good enough, then he would put it into the fire. That clay is probably screaming, "Hot!" And he wants to get out, but the potter knows what he is doing. He knows that the fire is necessary to the process so that it would produce a wonderful object. At the end, that clay becomes a beautiful and precious object.

Mother Teresa once said, "We are like pencils in the hand of God". When we surrender our lives to God, He will shape our lives become wonderful, in accordance with His will. Sometimes, we have to go through the flame and difficulties, but God knows what He's doing. He is close to us and His hand is ready to hold and sustain us.

When the process of life is painful, be forbearance, because Lord is shaping us and He knows what He is doing.
