True Story: Prita Laura and Faith to Wait for the Baby

Marriage is a very precious moment to Prita Laura, the news anchor in one of Indonesia’s private television networks. Along with her husband, Marthin Saba (singer), Prita longed for the baby. However, what happened when the baby has not come yet? Here is the true story of Prita Laura and her faith to wait for the baby.

It’s been six-and-a half-year marriage, but Prita Laura’s wish in having a baby has not granted yet. Their desire to have a baby became greater and greater.

The desire was getting stronger after Prita presented news about abused children for several times. “I felt like, oh God, just give the children to me and I will take care of them. My desire was so strong that I could have such idea,” she said.

In this waiting period, Prita and her husband believe that God is preparing beautiful plan for both of them. “However, one thing that I believe is that God’s knitting my life and my husband’s as well. So, to me who stays in the bottom, His plan seems unclear. My point is, I believe that the depiction from above must be beautiful, according to His plan.”

Hardship often comes through this waiting period. But her faith of God’s plan in the future grows stronger. “It isn’t faith if it’s easy. Faith is tested when we face tribulation—whether we accept it or not. Have faith in every impossible thing. And to feel weak, that is faith.”

One scripture that inspires Prita is “I did knit you together in your mother’s womb.” That scripture sounds beautiful to me because it showed that there’s God’s concern in every details in our life path. In God’s eyes, there are no unimportant things.”

So Prita and her husband are enjoying the process which they wait for the baby. She believes that every single person has their own moment—an unreturnable moment that no one may experience. At this moment, the only thing she can do is being grateful for what she’s got.

“We will never quit trying, even though so much money has been spent. We believe that the time we spend will not be in vain. God will see it as our form of faith,” Prita concluded.
