James 4:2

"You lust, and have not: you kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: you fight and war, yet you have not, because you ask not."

Bible Reading for a Year: Psalms 87; Romans 15; Deuteronomy 21-22

Debts have been part of a lifestyle, especially when people, with their credit cards, can buy things without thinking of paying. As a result, they are in debts.

At last, each of money they borrow must be paid with the interest. They never receive their salary intact due to paying debts, and they must work overtime for making ends meet. They lose their joy; he cannot give to God and those in need anymore because they have their own financial problem.

Financial problem due to debts won’t affect merely those in debt. Many times it also affects conflict in marriage and leads to divorce. This problems begins when one cannot control his desire or envies other people or for the sake of being accepted in society. But its effect is terrible.

Have you ever contemplated what you’re asking for, and then pray to God? Do you know that God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:19)? The thing is “all your need”; it’s not “all your desire”, for when we desire to have or we lust, we cannot obtain it (James 4:3).

What is your financial problem today? Are you in debts? How is your financial condition? This is the right time to make a change—come to God and bring all your struggles to Him. Repent and commit yourself to pay all your debts as soon as possible. Later on, if you want something, you should come to God first and ask Him for it. If it is your need, you will obtain it.

Don’t let your life be controlled by your desire, instead, let God control your life.
