1 Peter 3:4

rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

Today, a beauty contest is not a new thing. From the local region, national, and even international, many women compete with each other to get the title and the crown and be the most beautiful. They walk confidently on a stage with various clothing. Moreover, they have to perform skills and show their intelligence.

Anyone would praise their beauty because they are physically perfect. However, their beauty would not last forever. The Bible in Proverbs 31:30a wrote, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing.” Charm and physical beauty will pass as time goes by. Even though there are some ways to retain beauty, they are just tricks.

Do you know that as the bridegroom of God, that is the church of the Lord, we are expected to dress up and look beautiful, but not simply an outer beauty? God wants us to have inner beauty, a beauty that will not fade through time.

In 1 Peter 3:3-4 we are taught to dress our heart with incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. It is about our character. If we look beautiful and handsome but the character or attitude is annoying, we won’t be appreciated and respected by others.

Dear friends, if today we reflect on ourselves, do not look merely on the physical beauty, but also our heart—whether it’s beautiful both before people and God. Physical beauty will fade, but the inner beauty from the heart is what we bring to eternity.

If you want to be beautiful, make sure that you are beautiful both outside and inside.
