True Story of Maida and His Bond with Black Magic

Maida Supriyatno was the fourth from seven brothers and sisters. He was born in Klaten, Solo, Central Java. Maida was born into Muslim family. Since he was a little boy, he hated Christianity, and Jesus even more. How is his life’s journey until he repented and was released in the name of Jesus? This is a true story of Maida and his bond with black magic.

Since he was in elementary school, he had learned about black magic. He mastered pellets, witchcraft, ilmu kontak, disappearing spell, and voodoo. He tried for fun at first, but he started tricking somebody because he wanted to practice the magic.

Maida often asked people to fight him, and he usually won. He became more arrogant. He started tricking a woman with the pellets, so she chased him. He could do anything by taking advantages of the magic.

One day, he wanted to trick a Christian friend. Unexpectedly, the magic did not work. He asked his friend, what kind of ‘magic’ did he have? And he said that he had Jesus.

He was curious. Maida wanted to test Jesus and found out whether Jesus was really powerful or not. One day, he went home after working, and I was raining heavily outside. Maida thought that he could not go home soon, and he was worried about flooded home due to leaky roof. So, he started to pray to test God. “God, I ask You in the name of Jesus for covering the holes in on my roof, and do not let any raindrop fall into my house. In the name of Jesus, amen.”

After arriving home, he turned on the light and was surprised. There was no any raindrop in his room. It was all dry although the rain was heavy. But Maida did not believe in Jesus immediately. He considered that event as mere coincidence due to the law of nature. After that, he deliberately did not repair the roof because wanted to re-test God.

The same event took place. It rained heavily and he decided not to pray to God, and he wondered what may happen later. When he was arrived home, he was surprised when he found out his flooded house. There were wet bed, cupboard, and kitchen equipments because of the raindrop that fell through the leaky roof.

At that time, he cried and asked God for forgiveness because he had doubted His miracles. Since then, he promised to be His faithful servant. Today, Maida and his family were released from all black magic and begin a new life with Lord Jesus, their Savior.
