The Difference between a Cell-Church and a Church with a Cell-Group

According to Alvi Radjaguguk, a small group pastor from JPCC (Jakarta Praise Community Church), there is a difference between a cell-church and a church with a cell-group. A church with a cell-group focuses more on cultivating a ministry, while a cell-church focuses on developing an individual. The more effective place to develop a person is thus a cell-church. However, not many people are involved in it they do not find it interesting.
For the past year, CBN has made the commitment to serve in local churches, empowering them with media, including bringing Nobar Komsel Solusi, a program where viewers gather together to watch some testimonies that are compiled into a DVD, accompanied by a guideline for the cell-group leader to lead a discussion and to make the session more lively and exciting.
After successfully holding this program in about 75 churches, in July 2016, Outreach CBN team presented this Solusi DVD project in a meeting between cell-group division leaders of Indonesia’s largest denomination church. About 14 churches with the total 2,167 cell-groups signed-up to host the viewing of Solusi Hidup Pemulihan Total (The Solution to Total Life Recovery) and made the DVD Project the primary material for spiritual teaching in their church. When most cell-groups have only around 10 people, this project is expected to reach out to around 20,000 cell-group members. This is indeed a breakthrough for CBN Media in Indonesia, who have built a great synergy with the local churches in order to better connect with the people.
Some churches have already hosted the cell-group viewing event in May and have already submitted their report and feedback from the event. A total of 37 new members have joined the cell-group which hosted this project. Pdt. Rudyjanto, a priest of GBI Kemang Pratama Bekasi Jawa Barat said that the testimony video was a very effective method to spread the truth of God’s words and the discussion material in the DVD might be the ultimate solution to make a cell-group session more exciting.
SOLUSI DVD Project is not only a blessing to cell-group sessions in many churches. One of the cell-group leaders even brought this DVD material in an office prayer session. We hope that through this DVD Project, everyone can realize that it is an integral part of life to bless others as a way to receive blessings.
