Steven Curtis Chapman

Siapa yang tidak mengenal Steven Chapman? Ya, artis gospel ini merupakan salah satu pemenang Dove Awards 2013 untuk kategori Christmas Album terpopuler 2013 yang langsung diproduseri oleh dirinya bersama dengan Brent Milligan.

Setelah memulai karirnya di akhir 1980-an sebagai penulis lagu dan penyanyi musik Kristen Kontemporer, Chapman telah dikenal sebagai salah satu penyanyi yang paling produktif di genrenya dan telah merilis lebih dari 20 album.

Selama karirnya di bidang musik, Chapman telah memenangkan 5 Grammy Awards dan 58 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards melebihi banyak artis gospel lainnya selama sejarah.

Untuk penghargaan Dove Awards, Chapman telah berhasil menyabet gelar ‘Artist of the Year’ sebanyak 7 kali. Di tahun 2007, Chapman juga telah berhasil menjual lebih dari 10 juta album dan memiliki 8 Platinum Album atau RIAA bersertifikat emas.

Bersama istrinya, Mary Beth, Chapman membentuk sebuah organisasi amal yang bernama Show Hope (tadinya bernama Shaohannah’s Hope) yang bergerak dalam kepedulian anak yatim piatu dan bekerjasama dengan lembaga internasional lainnya ke seluruh dunia.

Tidak hanya cemerlang dalam musik, Chapman bersama istrinya juga menulis buku untuk anak-anak yang berjudul Shaoey and Dot: Bug Meets Bundle (2004), Shaoey and Dot: The Christmas Miracle (2005), dan Shaoey and Dot: A Thunder and Lightning Bug Story melalui ilustrasi Jim Chapman (2006).
