Solusi Keeps on Innovating

Observing the recent development of media nowadays, it seems that there is a certain shift of trend. Today, video streaming seems to play more roles in social media. Just take Facebook, the largest social media platform at the moment, who is planning in near time to release a premium TV platform. Before Facebook, Twitter had actually made public of their intention to do similar video streaming ministry, which covers even live-news in their own platform. YouTube, the major player in video streaming ministrys has also disclosed their intention to launch a free content streaming. It is quite fascinating to follow how these major social media platforms continue developing a concept that had long been an exclusive domain of TV into their platforms.

But let us turn our attention away from the competition of these digital giants and roll back to a time when no TV or Radio programs were being streamed live on social media. Television was the primary medium to people, and it was here that CBN first put its flag. April 1999 was the momentum when CBN first aired on television. Through this program, CBN ministry consistently spread the news about salvation by presenting live testimonies of people who have experienced recovery firsthand in their lives. Television was a really powerful medium, as it can reach even people in remote village. It was capable of touching parts of the nation that even transportation could barely reach.

18 years later, CBN has remained loyal to its viewers. The long experience it has accumulated in broadcasting positive contents has enabled CBN to keep innovating in bringing contents that are both entertaining and inspiring. In April 2016, Solusi arrived with a fresh face and packaging, but still with the same vision to spread the love of God to everyone. According to Nielsen Media Research, about six million viewers watched Solusi throughout 2016.

As a ministry with the principle of creative media missionary, CBN does not wish to remain passive in the face of this recent trends in media, which led to the multi-platform launching of Solusi, both in broadcast and online. Solusi is not only packaged as a show, but also as an online community. Up to July 2017, the Facebook account of Solusi has successfully amassed 44,066 likes; 5,403 followers on Instagram and 28,348 on Twitter. For Youtube meanwhile, it has gathered around 3,562 subscribers.

Now, with all those achievements above, do we consider it enough? Absolutely no. We are completely aware that this is just a small step from a greater plan from God for this country.
