Bible reading for a year [bible]psalm94[/bible]; [bible]0luke15[/bible]; [bible]danie5-6[/bible]

Everyone becomes old naturally. At that time, he is getting weaker, his eyes are dim, and he develops dementia, et cetera. And that’s why many people worry as they are entering old age. They worry many things; what if they wouldn’t be able to do anything, what if they would never bring benefit anymore to others. Manpower is going weaker, and general ability will decline. Regarding this, we cannot be against the law of nature. . However, that does not mean we have to stop being a blessing to others.

The Bible writes some productive old people, such as Noah and Caleb. We are so familiar with the story of Noah’s ark. In his old age, Noah received God’s commandment to build the ark. Knowing the size of the ark, we are convinced that Noah must work extra hard. Building an ark is not easy; and even the builder is young and strong enough, he would have difficulties in doing so. So we can imagine how difficult it was for Noah who built it in his old age. And so did Caleb. While he was not young anymore—85 years old, he was able to fight and take the city of Hebron. That’s because God strengthened him!

May those two biblical figures can encourage you in your old age. We should know and learn that God never confines you to be beneficial for others, even though you’re not young. The world may think that you are not productive anymore and you cannot do difficult tasks. But in the eyes of the Lord you are always productive, you are never weak, you are energetic, and the most important thing is He never considers you too old to do His work! The world confines you, but God doesn’t. No matter how old you are today, God always gives you an opportunity to be a blessing for others.

Though you are old and you’re getting weaker, trust God that He will never forsake you. Even though people doubt your ability, trust God that He will not doubt it. Because since the beginning He has promised that if you are faithful living His word, then your old age is in His hands. You will always bring forth fruit in old age, and will be healthy and flourishing. Therefore, never worry in your life. God wants to use you in His work regardless of your age or your strength. So, keep the spirit and be productive!
