Proverbs 29:22

An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.

Bible Reading for a Year [bible]psalm136[/bible]; [bible]iicor9[/bible]; [bible]ichro8-10[/bible]

A man had a son with bad behavior. Therefore, he tried to teach his son using a bag of nails. He told him to drive a nail into the fence every time he had an argument with or anger to someone.

On the first day, he drove 37 nails into the fence, the same amount of conflicts he had on that day. The next week, he learned to control himself, so he can cut down the amount of the nails. Finally, he was able to fully control himself so that he did not have to drive any nail into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

Later, the man asked his son to take a look at the fence. Even though the nails have been pulled out from it, there were holes that never be gone, and the fence would never be the same.

We may assume the heart as the fence and anger is the nail. This is what happens to our life when we have a quick temper. We are easily angered yet we do not consider the impact of our words for others. When we are angry, we are not aware that we speak words that may hurt others and make scars on their heart, just like the nails into the fence. Anger can harm others both physically and mentally. That’s why the Bible told us many times to control our emotion.

Be careful with you anger because it could be painful to you
