One way to strengthen our inward man is by worshipping Him day after day. Worshipping does not merely mean singing praises, but worshipping Him in the Spirit and in truth.

Some Christians are confused with the phrase “worship in the Spirit and in truth”; does it mean we have to worship as if we are possessed—which cannot control our body when the evil spirit enter the body? Or, should we worship like meditating? Or, like what?

There are two things that we have to understand about “worship in the Spirit and in truth”. First, worshipping in the spirit. It means we have to worship Him with our ultimate humanity. God does not want us to worship Him with body and soul only, but also in the Spirit.

Second, worshipping in the truth. It means we have to worship Him according to the Word of God (the Bible). We knew that God hates hypocrisy, pretending, and other evil things. When we come before Him and He sees our foul, He will turn His face from us. Therefore, when we come to Him, come wholeheartedly and passionately.

Worshipping in the Spirit and in truth is God’s favor. When you faithfully practice it, then your inward men will be strengthened. When your inward man is strengthened, then you are able to overcome even the biggest trials and temptation from the devil.

If you want to strengthen your inward man, then worship God in the spirit and in truth.
