Life After Death, Do You Believe it?

Do you believe there is life after death? There is a story in the Bible about life after death. We can find it in [bible]0Luke16:19-30[/bible]. This story is an important parable. In this story, Jesus described that life is only temporary and there is other life after death which is eternal.  In here, there is some interesting learning that we may get:

Everybody must be dead ({bible]Eccle3:2[/bible])

Death is a must and it is not a punishment or failure. Therefore, as long as we live, we are supposed to use our rest of life as an opportunity to live in the truth, so that we may be pleased to go into the heaven.

We are directly Judged after we died ([bible]0Luke16:22-23[/bible])

For believers, there is no punishment in Christ and it can be guaranteed.

Death is not the end of everything ([bible]0Luke16:24-25[/bible])

Life after death is about eternity. Therefore, there are two places which await us, believers will go to the heaven while the wicked will go to the hell and will have an eternal death ([bible]iiCor5:1[/bible]).

Dead people are not related to the living people anymore ([bible]0Luke16:26[/bible])

Dead people can not live anymore and they are not related to the living people. Christianity does not believe to the dead spirits.

Do not be late ([bible]0Luke16:27-31[/bible])

If you want to repent, just do it and serve God now. When there is a chance in one side, then ‘late’ will await in another side. Late means that you are dead and do not repent yet.  

This parable proves there is life after death and everybody must be dead. However for those who are still alive and live in the Christ, there is no punishment because death is not the end of everything. There is an eternal life which awaits us, the heaven.
