The Repentance of Hongkong Triad Leader

Triad is one of big criminal organizations which based in Hongkong. Their influences are always hiding in the darkness.

“The worst thing in Triad is about the betrayal. Anyone who did it will die,” said Teddy Hung, the Triad ex-leader opening his testimony.

In this organization, Teddy led the business of money laundry, drugs, prostitutes and all other illegal business. Teddy had money and power. Wherever he went, Teddy always got the best service.

At the beginning of its establishment, Triad had a support from Taiwan government as a media of surviving from China’s attacks.

“I might say that Triad was very firm and had an organized system. When I joined it for first time, my ultimate purpose was to be a very special and great man. The fastest way to reach it was through Triad organization and the mafia. Maybe people thought that man who joined Triad was those who had no character; however, I could make sure that those people who joined Triad were those who had character and they were not in vain.  People were afraid to Triad for what we always did in the darkness and all of us had the integrity in keeping secret so that many people respected and had a fear on us,” said Teddy.

“All members in that organization were given a number code. And my number was 415. My duty was practically to lead every operation in field. I was dealt with recruiting member, solving every member’s problems in field, thinking how to expand the network,” said Teddy sharing his role in Triad organization.

Teddy was in the top of power, however it did not mean that he could get away of problem.

“There were polices from England, they were usually coming and bothering our business for several times. At that time, Hongkong was still under the rule of England so they used their power to catch me first,” said Teddy.

Nevertheless, prison did not hinder his act in leading Triad organization. Teddy managed his business from prison.

“I lived in a neglected prison. So, the first thing I did was to renovate it in order to be better place to live. I have spent much money, so I could run my business in selling drugs and to continue my business in jail,” said Teddy.

Behind his scary and his calm attitude, there was no one knew that he actually had a heavy depression. One thing that he desired was death. However, a visiting of a prayer much more gave him a hope.

“When I was in jail, there was a prayer coming after me. He told me, “You were very success and famous in all over the world. But when you die, one day, you will be memorized as what?” That question made me to think hardly and I felt sad. One thing that made so depressed was I started to realize, more I was success, and I would be guiltier and ruined so many people’s life. More I was success, I did not help many people, I ruined other life instead,” said Teddy sharing his changing life.

Then, Teddy began to see many doctors as he could not sleep for months.

“I was always afraid. My lovers tried to cheer me up and hug me. But, I still had a fear and worry. I did not know, I still could not sleep,” said Teddy.

One night when he could not close his eyes, Teddy saw the Bible that was given by the prayer to him.

“I just said,’Jesus, if you really exist, just let me sleep, then I will trust You.” I held that Bible, and before I finished that statement, I fell to sleep,” said Teddy.

Since that time, Teddy’s business had a suddenly drastic change. His business was totally destroyed.

“My all friends claimed that God who I worship ruined my business. They said, ‘He was an evil God, it was proven by our damaged business, one by one.” I started to think that He was an evil God. I was disappointed on Him. I was confused which one I chose. If I believed to God, my business would be crumble. But, if I did not believe in Him, I could not sleep,” said Teddy sharing his dilemma in faith.

Then, a friend of him gave an enlightened statement.

“My friend told,’ Supposed you have a child, will you let your child run a business as what you did? If you kept running a business like that, you are going to hell.” This was the evidence that God loves me more,” said Teddy.

“It was not easy to let all my business and friends go. But, I begged God to give me a new life and job. And God had proven it, slowly but sure. I was finally able to run a clean business,” said Teddy.

Teddy had closed his old business and ran a new business, a clinic of electrical health in all over the world.

“10 years I had learnt and was rely on God, there were so many great things that I had to experience. I felt that my heart seemed bonded to heavy chain. Now, all those bindings had been released and I am free now,” said Teddy revealing the God’s greatness in his life.
