Many of you do not know exactly what baracha is. Is it a name of particular thing or figure on Bible? If you are thinking on that way, I want to tell you that it is wrong.

Baracha, as you know is a word of Hebrew that is used in the Bible to praise. The meaning of this word is “worship or praise”.

The word baracha is used in its relation to the blessing that we receive or worshipping. The core of baracha in Hebrew contains a concept that everything is the God’s. Psalm 24:1 says,” The earth is the Lord's, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it.” Because everything is the Lord’s, there is nothing that we can receive without baracha or praise to God.

The Hebrew tradition says,” When someone does not want to praise God or baracha to what he receives in this life, it means that he has spoiled God.”

The wise man will lift baracha up to every thing in his life; thank God or praise God in every time before or after meal, to a new car, to money that we receive, when we enjoy the beauty of sunset, smell a beautiful flower and blossom, taste a warm bread, watch children playing outside, for everything. Everything has to be accepted by praise, worship and thanksgiving.

There are many prayers which contain requests, begging or demanding from God, as if this world is mine as personal and He owed to us. The people in church are often singing a song “The miraculous God.” If we believe on that thing, we have to ask God in humility and receive Him with a thankful heart, glorify the creator and the ruler of this universe.

Because of that reality, our prayers should be filled with praise and worship to Him. Worshipping God is the most important thing. That thing should be the consistent part in our daily relationship to Him.
