Matthew 14:23

After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to

pray. Later that night, he was there alone,

When you look at a dove walking, you will find that he always makes a step,

then stop, then makes another stop, and so on. According to a research, it

is caused by the dove's limited sight--he cannot automatically focuses his

eyes while walking, thus, he needs to focus his sight every time he steps.

And so it is with this life. We need time to stop for a while and focus our

sight before we continue the journey.

In Webster dictionary, "being alone" or "solitude" is defined as separation

or breaking up. We need to separate ourselves and break up from the

busyness and then return to focus on God. Jesus sets particular moments to

be alone. Don't we need that more? Why?

- in solitude, we set time to pray [bible]0mark1:35[/bible]

- in solitude, we set time to meditate on the Word of God and avoid sins

[bible]psalm4:4-5[/bible]

- in solitude, we gain strength to overcome temptations

[bible]psalm63:6-7[/bible]

Some of us may think that being alone is similar to emptiness and

disappointment. However, when we are with God, our solitude turns to

useful, rich, and precious moments. Hence, let us always provide some times

to be alone with Him.

Give time and yourself as well to God to be alone and focus the view to the

goals that God wants you to reach.
