Man was created in longing of eternal life since God had designed him at the beginning. However, because of sin, man must face the death and Christ is the only way to that eternal life.

As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” - Mark 10:17
