While fasting, Pharisees were walking at the market in a worry situation so every one may see how magnify and holy they were. Their ways of fasting were condemned by the Lord Jesus. A truly fasting is not showed or displayed, but hidden; only God knows it.

But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face (Matthew 6:17)
