A Simple, Sincere Prayer of a Farmer

Have you ever seen a product of bottled waters mixed with fruit sold by food peddlers? This product is called infused water, a mixture of mineral water and fruit or other seasonings added for aroma. Most commonly added fruits for infused water fall into the category of acidic fruit, like lemon. However, do you know that there is a side effect to overconsumption of lemon? “Lemon is one of the most acidic fruits, so if you’re prone to heartburn, this could definitely trigger an episode,” said Jackie Ballou, a New-York based nutritionist, as cited from womenshealthmag.com.
Though never actually had a taste of infused water before, Yotam, a resident of North Maluku has once experienced a severe stomach pain which later escalated into heartburn. “It feels like I’m going to die,” he wrote in his text to CBN Counseling Center. As a copra farmer, Yotan had a barely sufficient income to support his family. Before getting married, he admitted that he had a smoking and drinking habit. However, ever since watching Solusi, he has made a commitment to change this bad habit.
Everything started around a year ago, during March 2015, when he began to suffer from breathing difficulties along with a burning sensation in his chest. Upon examination, the doctor told him that it was caused by the chronic stomach ulcer he had been suffering from. Relying upon his main income as a farmer, Yotan could not afford much health treatment. On February 14th 2016, his breathing difficulty got even worse right on the day he first discovered Solusi on TV. At the end of the program, the host invited the audience to pray together for the recovery of those who were sick, Yotam accepted the invitation and prayed. He believed that Jesus Christ could heal his sickness. After the program, Yotam also sent a text message to CBN Counseling Center asking for a prayer support so he could recover.
On March 16th, 2016, Yotam once again contacted CBN Counseling Center, this time to express his thanks. A week after being supported through prayer by the counselor team, Yotam was able to recover from his sickness. After experiencing the miracle of recovery, Yotam and his family promise to serve the Lord more sincerely.
Today we learn from Yotan, a farmer that in his simplicity, responded to the kindness of God by serving Him.
