Genesis 41:38

And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?"

Once upon a time, Joseph was in prison—forgotten and forsaken, but later he stood before Pharaoh. You might think that Joseph would choose his words carefully. However, when Joseph was asked to interpret Pharaoh’s dream, he said, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.” (Gen 41:16)

Joseph was not ashamed to tell Pharaoh the truth, and he boldly said to Pharaoh the God he worshipped. He didn’t take off or add up what he should have said. He told not only the good news about abundance but also about the future poverty.

Do we have courage like Joseph to tell good news that Jesus Christ the Savor has come and given eternal life to those who want to receive it? Do we have courage to tell the bad news as well, that those who reject Him as God and Savior will have eternal death in hell?

A key to have courage like Joseph is to let out life be led by the Holy Spirit. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, no matter whether you are in prison like Paul and Silas, or standing before the king like Joseph, you will have wisdom and courage to tell the truth of God’s Word.

The Holy Spirit reveals the secret, gives us courage, and grants us wisdom to spread the gospel.
