One Lesson Theme Sparked a Transformation: How Super5 Changed Alden’s Character

In Nias, CBN Indonesia has served 211 church-based Kindergarten centers, spread from the city of Gunungsitoli to its surrounding villages. SPS BNKP Jemaat Laowi in Somambawa, South Nias, is one of them.
This Kindergarten center has been using the Super5 curriculum since 2021. Today, five dedicated teachers who educate 25 early child every day in academics, character, and faith. Educated rooted in love combined with the implementation of the Super5 curriculum based on Christian values, has brought about a transformation to the children of SPS BNKP Jemaat Laowi.
Alden (age 4) is one of them. From a single lesson theme in class, little Alden learned a simple truth that transformed him from a child who used to be insecure and always withdrawn into an active child.
It all began with the “I Am Special” lesson they studied in class. Alden heard one sentence that changed his life forever: “Every child is created by God with their own uniqueness and special qualities.” His self-confidence began to emerge slowly. Whereas he used to be inactive, in class he now dares to raise his hand every time the teacher asks who wants to sing.
Alden really loves to sing and knows several Christian children's song. Although his voice is still developing, he is always enthusiastic about singing the songs he knows - including leading worship in front of his friends.
It's not just his character that's growing; Alden has also shown significant academic progress. Before even turning five years old, he can already write letters of the alphabet, such as a, b, and c, and has begun recognizing letter shapes when they are shown to him.
Alden’s transformation may seem simple, but there’s a process that’s gradually shaping him. We believe this has happened through the daily teaching and guidance he receives in class.
