OBI's Garden in School Helps Provide Nutritious Support for Early Childhood Students

One year ago, CBN Indonesia officially opened its Ministry Center in Manokwari, West Papua. Today, we are joyfully partnering with 50 Kindergarten across West Papua, including schools in remote mountain areas that face many limitations.
Through Obor Berkat Indonesia (OBI), we launched the Garden in School program in four Super5 Kindergarten to help meet children’s nutritional needs and create sustainable food sources.
Bethel Prafi Kindergarten, which received support in the form of a vegetable garden and 75 laying hens, has already begun enjoying the harvest. The fresh eggs are now served on the children's plates, providing vital additional nutrition. Meanwhile, at Wampasi Kindergarten, Makarismos Kindergarten, and Immanuel Mbrey Ulyar Kindergarten, children are actively participate every day - feeding the chickens, watering the vegetables, learning to care for them, and developing a sense of responsibility — waiting until they too can enjoy the harvest.
As this program continues, we believe these schools will become more self-sustaining and better equipped to create joyful, fun and engaging learning environments for every child.
CBN Partners, dozens of other Kindergartens in West Papua are still waiting for the same helping hand. Bacause every egg produced and every vegetable planted is a valuable investment in raising Papua generation who are healthy, intelligent, and independent.
