Thank God! Children in Aceh and Tapanuli Now Can Use Temporary Schools Because of You

When hydro-meteorological disasters destroyed their school buildings, the dreams of many children in Aceh Tamiang and Central Tapanuli were nearly lost.
Today, we bring good news. Because of your support, temporary schools built through Obor Berkat Indonesia (OBI) are now being used as learning spaces for hundreds of elementary school children across two affected areas — Alur Jambu State Elementary School in Aceh Tamiang and Pagaran Honas State Elementary School in Central Tapanuli.
These temporary schools were officially dedicated at the end of April 2026, in a ceremony attended by the Chairman of Obor Berkat Indonesia Foundation, Sandi Baratha.
Now, children who once had to study in limited emergency tents can finally learn again in a more comfortable and focused environment.
These schools are not permanent buildings. But we hope they can become a temporary support for the education of children affected by disaster in Aceh and Sumatra - as they wait for further recovery from the government. Because losing one school year does not only mean losing lessons. It is losing the chance to rise.
Our journey is not over. Many children are still waiting for the same hope.
