From a Fried Rice Stall, a Father Fights for His Family

Kemanusiaan

Amid life’s many challenges, we continue to support families in Central Java through economic empowerment. One of them is Mr. Jarot, a 48-year-old fried rice seller in Mranggen, Demak, Central Java. He is a husband and a father of three children.

After losing his job because of company layoffs, Mr. Jarot had to find a way to provide for his family. With the little money he had, he started selling fried rice from a simple cart.

But running the business was not easy. His equipment was old, his stall needed improvement, and frequent power outages often affected his sales. His income became uncertain.

We first knew about Mr. Jarot's family struggles through the pastor of the church where his child attends our PAUD Super5 program. From there, we began to help him grow his small business.

Through your generosity, Mr. Jarot received support to repair his food cart, buy new cooking equipment, and add business capital. He also received mentoring and simple bookkeeping training.

Thank God! Today, we see how his business is growing. More customers are coming, his income is becoming more stable, and he can now pay his children’s school fees every month.

He has even been able to save part of his income to buy a generator - solution for his business can keep running during power outages. And beyond that, he has even been able to invest in raising goats.

Our beloved Partners, this is the story of one family whose life has begun to change. But there are still many families waiting for the same kind of help.

Be the answer for another family today.
