The Parenting Project is more than just a comprehensive and creative parent discipleship resource. Through this teaching series, God works to restore parent-child relationships that are scarred by pain and disappointment. Many parents are learning once again how to be present, to love, and to rebuild the connection that was once lost. This is the tangible impact of the faithful support from CBN Partners, who bring The Parenting Project to their local churches.
Mrs. Dwi Tunjung Sari (35), called Mrs. Febry, never imagined that attending The Parenting Project classes would mark the beginning of her family’s restoration. This mother of two that lives in Semarang, witnessed God moving from the very first session. She and her husband were busy working parents; the exhaustion they felt after work was often redirected into their mobile phones. When their children sought attention, she was met with shouting, anger, and even neglect. Gradually, the children became fearful, and even worse, their second child began to drift away.
'The children are still so young. Sometimes, they would suddenly ask to play, and we would just snap at them, 'Go play by yourself!' But over time, I realized my own children were growing distant from us,' Mrs. Febry shared.
During the first module, “Becoming a Good Role Model”, Febry broke down in tears. She realized that for years, they had been physically present but emotionally absent. As they went through each module, their hearts were strengthened to change—choosing to put their phones away after work and truly be present for their children. A major decision followed when their eldest child was diagnosed with ADHD. Mrs. Febry chose to leave her job and focus on caring for her child, believing that God was using this moment to restore the relationship that had once been lost.
“The modules that impacted me the most were ‘Becoming a Good Role Model’ and ‘Building Connection’. I experienced the lessons personally and put into practice everything I learned during the modules,” she shared.
Today, she, her husband, and their two children intentionally spend more time together. They have even built a daily habit of family prayer and reading God’s Word.
CBN Partners, this is the fruit of your faithful sowing. Thank you for your continued commitment. Let us keep carrying this goodness forward—so more parents are discipled, families are restored, and lives are rooted deeply in the Lord.
