From Gunungsitoli to Kupang: Dozens of Health Volunteers Trained and Ready to Serve Their Communities!

CBN's humanitarian services Obor Berkat Indonesia, present a new initiative through Community Health Volunteer (CHV) training - as a step to support the health of children and parents in every community we serve in Indonesia.
Through your support, we have held this training in two service areas: Gunungsitoli and Kupang in October 2025. We are grateful to have equipped dozens of community members who have dedicated themselves to becoming health volunteers and ready to serve their communities.
The CHV training has been given to:
- 27 Health Volunteers in Gunungsitoli
CHV in Nias
On October 10–11, 2025, a total of 27 participants from 13 churches gathered at Bunda Beach Hall, Fodo Village, Gunungsitoli, Nias. They learned about the ethics of service, how to detect stunting, implement Clean and Healthy Behavior, and fundamental skills in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
“I learned that health service is not just about medical knowledge, but a calling to be a channel of God’s love,” said Christ Mesti, one of the participants.
This training not only expanded their knowledge but also ignited a new passion to help the children and families in their communities.
- 21 Health Volunteers in Kupang
CHV in Kupang
A total of 21 participants from the communities we serve enthusiastically participated in CHV training in Kupang.
In collaboration with the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Health Office, these dozens of volunteers were equipped with fundamental knowledge about the roles and responsibilities of health volunteers within the community, specifically focusing on strategies for preventing childhood stunting in their areas.
Following this training, every participant can return to their community equipped with the knowledge needed to monitor children's health, educate the public on nutritional needs, and encourage every family to adopt clean and healthy lifestyles.
