A Valuable Lesson That Changed the Way Mrs. Meilani Raised Her Child

The Parenting Project

Amidst the strong currents of the digital world, children need parents who are fully present—who not only love them but are also capable of guiding and directing them with divine values.

This is our heartfelt desire through The Parenting Project (TPP), a teaching series that helps parents become the first and foremost educators for their children. The Parenting Project is not just teaching material, but training that transforms parents' perspectives to become the best co-pilots in their children's life journey.

We have witnessed the impact firsthand on the families of The Parenting Project participants, one of whom is Mrs. Meilani (41 years old) from Medan, North Sumatra. She never expected that her habit of letting her eldest child play on a cell phone without limits could lead to something shocking—one day, her child asked her to buy ingredients to assemble a bomb. As a mother, she was completely shocked and refused the request, which was not only unreasonable but also extremely dangerous.

Meilani & Given

A turning point came when she attended The Parenting Project at her church. Through the 'Digital Household' material, she realized the importance of setting boundaries and making agreements regarding gadget use.

“When we started learning the Digital Household material, I realized that I had been caught off guard. We gave him a cell phone because his grades were good, but he just kept playing without limits,” she recounted.

The material opened her eyes to the importance of setting boundaries, establishing clear agreements, and actively supervising her child's digital access. Mrs. Meilani has now started implementing daily limits on cell phone use, taking back her role as the one in control and the guide in her family's digital life.

Don't let other parents be caught off guard due to a lack of knowledge. Support The Parenting Project today to reach more parents across various remote parts of the country.
