This Mom Was Made Aware of Wrong Parenting Through ‘The Parenting Project’

As of September, The Parenting Project's pilot project is still running in 42 CBN Partner churches. This program is specifically designed to help participants (Dads and Moms), understand more deeply about parenting. So that they can be better parents for their children. From this pilot, a mother shared her testimony during the Parenting Project.

Last August, when the trial of The Parenting Project began at her church GBI Palopo, South Sulawesi, Mrs. Ing (39 years old), a mother of four, was excited to join. Through Module 2 entitled 'Building Closeness', she was made aware of her wrong parenting patterns. As it turned out, actions such as giving severe punishments and speaking harsh words had damaged her relationship with her two teenagers' children.

After continuing to follow this discipleship, Mrs. Ing's learned from Module 6 entitled 'Boundaries and Discipline' and committed to turning into a parent who is intimate with her children by educating with love and building relationships based on God's word.

'From this program, the module that really rebuked me was about 'Building Closeness' and 'Boundaries-Discipline'. Giving severe punishments is not a good answer for children when they make mistakes. I realize and pray to God that I will always truly love them more, and as parents can be wise in educating them in accordance with the truth of God's word,' said Mrs. Iing.

Dear CBN partners, please continue to support and pray for The Parenting Project, so that this parental discipleship can be applied thoroughly throughout the church network, and there will be a major transformation of the family.
