Becoming a Blessing Through Service

Pesan Bulan Ini

Peace be upon CBN partners,

I would like to thank you on behalf of CBN Indonesia's service for the support, devotion and love that you have channeled to others with us CBN. Today I want to read a verse that I really like, from Matthew 20: 28 – “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Did you know that our human side always wants to be served? That is our ego and flesh. Is it profitable for me? Can this be a blessing for me?  We see the world and those around us with human point of view, and many times we pass the opportunity to be an extension of Jesus' hand to others.

While Jesus Himself is the filter of the kingdom of God. Jesus' purpose in coming into the world was to serve, so that we could emulate Him to serve others. He taught us that the purpose of our lives is to serve and give ourselves.

In fact, Jesus served in an 'all-out', sacrificial way.  Jesus' style of ministry was to give His life to atone for our sins and give ourselves totally to glorify god's name. Why is He like that? Because He served with all his heart so as to bring about breakthroughs and make history.  Who has ever printed history by way of serving half-heartedly or seeking profit for yourself?

I once sat with some church leaders in a small town on a remote island in Indonesia. I said that the purpose of my coming was to serve, sacrificing everything for your church to rise to be the best church. The synod leaders sat quietly hearing me speak, then after a while, they looked at me and said, 'Mr. Mark is like a helping angel to us.  We don't know how our church can move forward, if no one helps us.'

It turns out that their church does need help to make disciples of generations of children and parents. We are grateful that there are now PAUD (Early Childhood Education) Super5, Superbook Sunday School, School of Life Learning Center and The Parenting Project Series that can be used by the church.

Serving sacrificially and 'all out' turns out to trigger the kingdom of God, so that His blessings flow and lift us up with others. Are you willing to be an extension of Jesus' hand to others in this way?

Thank you for your loyalty to be a CBN Partner.
