Tom Holland, Released New Book Talking About Islamic History

In his new book ‘The Shadow of the Sword’, Tom Holland write that Islamic is a religion comes from others religion such as Christian, Judaism, and Zoroastrism. He said that what Mohammed wrote is like what Homerus, a philosopher from Greek’s wrote. Holland also wrote that Islamic not evolve in Mecca but in Petra, Jordan.

Zoroastrim it self is an old religion from Persian. We still can find it followers in Azerbaijan, Iran, India, Kurdistan, and Pakistan. The founder of this religion is a prophet name Zarathustra or Zoroaster. Zoroastrism exist before Islamic did.

For Moslem researcher, what Holland told in his book is not a new one and not a surprise anymore. “Al-quran included confession that Islamic is Christian and Judaism’s further,” told Petra Sijpesteijn, well-known Arab culture and language’s teacher at Leiden University. So basically, Sijpesteijn agreed to Tom Holland. “That’s good because he served it easy method so public can read it. But, if it already talked about period birth of Islamic, to discuss this even in Moslem society or non Moslem society, it still become a sensitive case.”

If Islamic comes from Christian and Judaism or other religion such as Zoroastrism, it means that Islamic is also part of Christian. In every differences we have, we must live in harmony and peace.
