Let us search and examine our ways, and turn again to the Lord.

Nobody can change everything. But anyone can change himself. When life seems so chaos, knowing which to change and which to change not, can bring a great impact.

We cannot change our past. We cannot so easily change people around us; parents, spouse, or children. We cannot change gift and talents God gave us, flaws we have, and we cannot bring back the people we love.

The greatest suffering in such chaos is trying to find peace and must accept that we cannot change all things. We must change for the sake of people we love and of ourselves.

This allows us to realize that we have no ability to change everything, yet we are able to change ourselves. When this world is in chaos, Jeremiah wrote in Lamentation 3:40 “Let us search and examine our ways, and turn again to the Lord.”

Is there anything in our life that doesn’t please God? Crisis times help us to focus our eyes to the most important thing—JESUS.

To re-arrange our life according to the Lord, we need to evaluate ourselves. We need to examine every aspect in our life in details. We need to look back on our relationship with God, spouse, children, and colleagues/friends. We need to search for bad habits that destroy us all this time.

Many times, we might pity ourselves due to chaos in this life. But it wastes our time. Remember that nobody can change everything, but anyone can change himself. When life seems so chaos, God reminds us to examine ourselves. When you have changed, then you can be the change for others.

Change begins with humility to change ourselves first.
